PetThese Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PetAssured.ca (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Publisher status (not a broker or veterinarian)
The Site is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only. PetAssured.ca is an independent publisher. We are not a licensed insurance agency, broker, financial advisor, or veterinary clinic.
Nothing on the Site constitutes professional veterinary, financial, or legal advice, and nothing here is tailored to your individual circumstances. Your use of the Site does not create a broker-client or veterinarian-client relationship. The Site is not a substitute for the care of a licensed veterinarian or the consultation of a licensed insurance agent. See our full Disclaimer.
2. Pricing accuracy and content generation
Insurance premiums, policy terms, and veterinary costs change frequently and vary heavily based on location, breed, and individual pet health. Some comparison data, tables, or guides on the Site may be compiled, aggregated, or drafted using automated systems, programmatic architectures, or artificial intelligence tools.
We do not guarantee the real-time accuracy, completeness, or current validity of any quote, policy detail, or veterinary cost estimate provided on the Site. The final policy terms and premiums offered directly by an insurance provider always supersede the information you read here.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence to use the Site or to enter into any agreement with an insurance provider linked from the Site.
4. Affiliate relationships and monetization
PetAssured.ca is a reader-supported site. At present, our only active affiliate partnership is with the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through links on the Site.
We currently do not receive commissions, referral fees, or compensation from the insurance providers reviewed or compared on this Site. These Amazon commissions come at no additional cost to you, and our editorial content, reviews, and comparisons are strictly independent and never dictated by affiliate compensation. If we establish affiliate relationships with insurance providers in the future, we will update these Terms before doing so.
5. Third-party links and advertising
The Site contains links to external websites, including insurance providers. While the Site does not currently display third-party network advertisements, Google's AdSense script currently loads on the Site in connection with a pending application and may set cookies, though no ads are actively served (see our Privacy Policy for details).
We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or conduct of these external sites. We are not responsible for any third-party product, service, or representation. If we introduce network display advertising in the future, we will update these Terms before doing so.
6. Limited licence
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, republish, frame, or redistribute substantial portions of Site content without written permission.
- Use automated systems, bots, or software to scrape or harvest content, pricing data, or reviews.
- Use the Site or its content to train any machine-learning model or generative AI system.
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair it.
7. Intellectual property
All original content on the Site — including text, design, code, calculators, logos, and structure — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. The PetAssured.ca name and associated logos are our trademarks.
8. User submissions and communications
If you submit a message, comment, correction, or any other content to us, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and disclose that content for any lawful purpose, including in published responses or corrections. You represent that any content you submit is your own, accurate, and does not infringe any third-party rights.
If you provide your email address to sign up for our free guides or email updates, you agree to receive communications from us in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers and no warranties
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the insurance quotes displayed will match the final offer from a provider.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PetAssured.ca, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including financial loss, denied insurance claims, or harm to your pet — arising from or related to your use of the Site, your reliance on any content here, or any decision you make in connection with insurance or veterinary care.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded as a matter of law, our aggregate liability to you for any cause whatsoever is limited to CAD $1.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PetAssured.ca, its operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your contractual interactions with any insurance provider linked from the Site.
12. Changes and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice. We may update these Terms at any time. The version posted at this URL is the current version. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and severability
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario for the resolution of any dispute arising from or related to these Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severable and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
14. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and PetAssured.ca regarding the Site, and supersede any prior agreements.
